Society

Penang is a colorful multiethnic society with a mixture of Chinese, Indians and Malay in it's social circle. Penang uses mixed languages for communication but the Bahasa Malaysia is the lingua franca of communication between three races. As a multiethnic society, Penang has different festivals from different culture from time to time.

History

Some of the buildings in Penang datesback to 1787 when Malaysia was ruledby the British Colonial for 170 years. Penang was prospered as an importantlocation especially for the East IndiaCompany. Due to the long ruling of theBritish colony, many of the buidlingstoday are actually historical landmarks.

Climate

Penang has tropical climate all year roundfrom the minimum temperature of 23degree celcius in the morning and amaximum of 37 degree celcius during sunny condition. The rainy season is usually from late September until mid-December.
